Kings Langley and
Bakau Together
The participation of the schools in Bakau and especially the Primary School in Kings Langley has been an important part of our Linking work. Teachers have visited Bakau and vice versa and the Primary School have sent photos and letters as a way of expressing friendship.
In 2000 when we received various visitors from Bakau gifts were given to the schools, including authentic African instruments. This and the way our dignitaries dressed helped to open the eyes of the children and enable them to appreciate a culture they donŐt often see.
In 2003 when Paul Tucker and his son visited Bakau , they took with them some football shirts and balls, donated by Kings Langley Football Club and Parish Council, to present to the young people there. The children came together to witness the "handing over", sitting very patiently through the speeches and singing then proudly displaying their shirts as the pictures show.
